Your Baby Can Now Listen To Lullaby Versions Of ‘Hamilton’ Songs

So long Twinkle, Twinkle, hello My Shot

You can now share your Hamilton obsession with even the youngest member of your family without having to worry about your toddler screaming, “How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore…” on the playground. There’s a new album featuring lullaby versions of songs from the Broadway play, and you’re going to want to download it before nap time today.

Rockabye Baby! is known for taking contemporary artists and making instrumental, kid-friendly versions of their songs. They recently released a lullaby version of Beyonce beats (we’re in love), and have previously recreated lullaby versions of all kinds of rock albums, everything from from Green Day to the Foo Fighters. Now they’ve headed to Broadway with their soothing take on eight songs from Hamilton.

You can sample the album below. Resist the urge to sing along if your baby is in earshot, otherwise you’re defeating the whole purpose.

The album is available to stream on Spotify, for purchase on   iTunes and Apple Music for $9 or on Amazon for $8. You can also purchase individual songs for 99 cents each through Amazon.

“Hamilton is a phenomenon,” Lisa Roth, vice president and creative director of CMH Label Group, told Billboard. “Actually, what’s a word that means something bigger than a phenomenon? Supernatural? When folks on our social media and personal friends started asking for a lullaby version, I couldn’t wait to oblige. Its hip-hop anthems are beyond Broadway and perfect for Rockabye Baby!. Not to mention, I was raised on musical theater. Having the opportunity to mix Rockabye Baby! with a Broadway smash was personally pure pleasure.”

The soothing sounds of a lullaby are great for getting a fussy baby to settle down, but a mom can only handle hearing the ABCs and Twinkle, twinkle so many times. These new Hamilton lullabies a welcome break from the same old tired nursery rhymes. Plus, we can hold out hope that one day our kids will grow up to sing duets with us.
